ideal string gauge for a 33 inches scale length bass guitar

can i use a 45-100 string gauge in a 33 inches scale length bass guitar? will it loose some tone clarity?

i don't think there be any problem at all, I'm using that guage on my fender jazz and have clarity and works fine, wouldn't matter what scale length the bass is i'd imagine
