Welcome For me it has always been round wounds I love the way they sound even more after a slight break in. I use D'Addario EXL 160 nickle wound round wounds. medium gauge. they don't cost a arm and a leg either. You will hear many who may prefer something else such as flat wound but I don't care for them., but that's what I like.

I play in a blues band that just started working a little. I use two P-Basses one with nickel plated roundwounds and one with flats. I use the P-Bass with flats for one set. If I had only one bass to take to a gig it would be strung with the roundwounds,I can just cover more ground with the rounds.
