Identify Old String Sets

Sign in to disble this ad
I have several basses, all with flats. I just start in the past year to note the date purchased and the which bass I have installed the string on the packages. I have many sets of flats that I didn't make notations. I'm trying to match old strings with original packages. Can stings be identified by the color of the string ends? I have lost track of the brand of some strings.

Below are strings I lost track of

Thanks

alan

Gold silks are probably Rotosound.
Blues are definitely Chromes.
Greens are Fender.

I have a set of Fender "new style" flats with that green silk, but at both ends of the strings. Maybe yours are also Fender, but possibly old style, I can't really tell for sure.
