Identify this strings

Sign in to disble this ad
So:

- Roundwounds
- Brass Ball End
- Grey thread at the ends (both)
- Taperwound E (only) but there is a very thin wound on the core of the string.
- They sound great
- Felt like nickel, but could be steel

Got them in a LaBella SuperSteps 45-128 box, but I don't think that they are LaBellas...

I love the strings and want to get them back, but I don't know what brand they are...

Any help?

They were thick, I think the E was .110, but also, not sure...

And did you see the core, or is there a small/thin winding over the core?

P.S. Another detail. The string ends were very long, I had about 5-6 windings on my peg head. And, they felt very strange (in a good way) like elastic...

So? Does anybody disagree that they are not Fender 8250s?
If not, I'm gonna buy them back again, but I don't want to buy them again until I know for sure that these strings were Fender.

Thanks

8250s/7250s

both have a taperwounded e-string, but whereas the 7250s seem to have a hexcore, the 8250s have a roundcore. at least that's what's stated on the fender website. you might also have a look at http://fender.com/products/search.ph...at=bassstrings

I found something. I think Fender changed their string box design...

This is now on their website :

VS.

So, once again: Can anyone confirm me that these strings are Fender 8250s?

Thank you

I think we should make a DataBase of identified strings and sticky it and continue to add to it as we identify new strings. Just an idea.

Dude, 8250's come with a 110TW "E" string. The one with the 105TW is old packaging. I have special ordered these from Fender and they come with 110TW "E"'s. I played My Victor Bailey out last night and that's what's on that bass.

Scroll down to the very bottom to see string specs.

Got it, but can you confirm me that the strings described above are 8250's?

I don't know any strings w/ grey thread near the ball end, Sadowsky's have grey wrap on the top but they don't sound like what you're describing. They also certainly don't sound like supersteps. Maybe they're a European made string that isn't familiar with up in the states?
