If money was no object would you like to play every gig with a new set of strings ? I would love to considering how much I sweat when I play live.

Nope... I keep my strings on as long as I can to get the funk in 'em and take out some brightness. I don't even wipe 'em down.

Sometimes that's the only reason I change 'em!

I would have to say no....I use flatwounds and I like the way they sound after I've played them a few times and then they sound really good for quite a long time. I change my strings anywhere from 6 months to a year.

Actually, for some strange reason, my boards are pretty clean.

I like them for a couple weeks after they break in. If I could buy strings that sound like they've been used 3 or 4 times and stay that way, I would.

Personally, I can't stand brand new strings. I keep mine on a month and then make sure I break them in pretty good before their show.

I'd change them after 4-5 shows I guess.I like the way how the sound of the strings change from zingy to a bit used.

I'd definitely change after every show if I could afford it. There's no way though. I generally change every ten shows or so.... Unless there's a high profile gig I want a bright sound for, or studio work, obviously.

If I could probably but not on my l2000, I like the flats on it. But maybe on a nice p bass like the 50s reissue or one of those fancy jaguars.

Of course, I love that zing when they're new. I'd have to get em good and stretched out so they stayed in tune.

Nope, not me!

I like the "used" and not-so-zingy sound myself. I usually change every 3-4 months or at least run them thru my string cleaner then load 'em back on.

Rarely change until they get really flat.

I usually tweek the action, truss rod (if necessary) and check out any intonation that's a little off, even if the new strings are the same type I removed, so I like to have a few days at least to get everything settled in first. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but what's this got to do with recordings, anyway?

I use to change my stainless rounds every 2 weeks. I've grown to enjoy slightly deader strings and become much less toxic than I was in my youth.

Today, I wipe them every couple days with some alcohol and I find 5 to 6 month is my average lifespan for LaBella Hard Rockin' Steels.

My hands don't sweat.

I buy 12 dollar bulk sets and they last me about a year and sound just as good as the day I bought them.

Absolutely. It would be a good thing if I had somebody to change them for me because it is not something that I love to do.

Actually I like strings better a couple of days old. Stretched in with a little of the clankiness gone. But my hands do not sweat, so It's real rare for a set to die prematurely on me. I mean, I can be playing an outdoor gig in 90 degree weather and my hands will be bone dry, unless I wipe my forehead with them.

Maybe every 2 weeks. IF everything sounded clean and new all the time then it'd get boring and no longer sound clean and new.
