If you have a Tele Bass

and want to use roundwounds I highly recommend the DR Marcus Miller Fatbeams. I just put a set on my Sting this morning and found what I was looking for. Smooth feel and playability for a roundwound, not overly bright right from the start, and plenty of warm punch. Very balanced as well. I'm using the standard 45-105 set. YMMV

Roundwounds are gonna do a number on those vintage frets, I know DR claims that HI-Beams/FatBeams don't eat frets but I wouldn't push my luck on those vintage frets though.
