...but I'm wondering if it's gonna work since I widened the slot on the nut for the D and G strings (EB 50-105). Are the narrower strings (45 and 65) gonna move around of will it be just fine?

I once widened the nut one of my P basses to use BEAD gauge strings. I can still use .40-.100 with the same nut. It may depend on how much you have had it widened.
