I'm in love....

So last week I got a set of LaBella Black Nylon tapewounds (.115-.060) and I threw em on my Fender TF Fretless Precision, and as you may have guessed from the title, I have fallen in love. These strings are AMAZING. Great upright-y tone, solid fundamental, mwah when I want it, and hell it don't sound bad slapped either (that was the biggest surprise).

I may have found a life partner.

Yeah, I have these on my Steinberger fretless. I love them for all the reasons you've listed, plus they just feel so great under my fingers. Makes the roundwounds on my Jazz feel like barbed-wire.

Those were the strings I started with on my Gibson EB-1 back in the seventies, played through an old (even then) Ampeg B15N. Wonderful, warm tone.

Totally get the barbed wire thing. Tapes are just so comfortable to play on
