inexpensive flatwounds to try

Sign in to disble this ad
I've played rounds my entire career as a bassist, and I'm sot really happy with the way I set in the mix. I have to crank up because my instruments sound gets lost, and my amp is like 20 years old, so id like to avoid this. So two questions, A)what are decent, inexpensive flats to try, and B) will they solve my problem?

P.s.) I play with fingers and try to get rid of as much brightness as I can

Fenders or Chromes would probably work for you. They're quite bright.

Try Webstrings.com. I had good luck with their flats.

I just put a set of Sadowsky flats on my Fender Jazz...so far, I dig them. They were $45 and worth every penny.

Carvin's flats are pretty good, and inexpensive.
