Infeld flats on string through body bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been using Thomastik-Infeld jazz flats for years. I just bought a 1999 Jazz bass that has a string through body style bridge. Anyone know if TI jazz flats will be okay on this bass? I emailed Thomastik but they never got back to me. Thanks!

I've had mine strung through the body for over two years. I've even taken them in and off several times with no issues at all.

I've got a coupleof through body basses with TI Flats on them without any problem for 3 or 4 years now. I think, at least in theory, that their lower tension allows them to be supple enough to go thru the body without breakage problems.

They are the most flexible of the flats so you wont have a problem...

However, keep in mind, if your bass has some crazy less than right angle string through design you always have to look out...
