Sorry,
but i don't know the right section of the forums where i could ask this.
I have a problem with a defective La Bella strings, just out of the package.
The italian importer (i live in Italy) has gone out of business.
I wrote the first time to "info@labella.com" and someone replied me that he would took care of a free replacement.
After that, i got no more reply. And i wrote them, to the same address, 2 times more. All of this since april 2009.
My question, if someone can help me:
can anyone please give me a more direct address other than their "info@ ..." (the only one listed in their Contacts page), so i can write to a more caring person, so that i can get a replacement ? ........
(it's not fair to have a 5 strings set without a string ..... and not being able to find single La Bella strings in Italy ....)
Thanks for any eventual help.

Thanks. | Hi mbrancalion.
You sent an e-mail to Eric Cocco? If so it may have been inadvertently flagged as spam. This can happen occasionally.
I'll e-mail Mr. Cocco a link to this thread and we'll see what happens. |

A defective La Bella bass string in Italy and no resolution since April 2009.
Hello Mr. Cocco.
I'm e-mailing you on behalf of a TalkBass member living in Italy who encountered a defective La Bella bass string issue which has remained unresolved since April 2009.
Here's a TalkBass thread which outlines the problem and what has been done to resolve it thus far: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showth...=1#post9712867
Thank you.
A La Bella 767-6F customer (great strings BTW),
Gary

I'm the "another TB'er." I did relay your message to Eric at LaBella. Will post here if I get any additional communication.

"Hello John,
Thank you very much for raising this to my attention. Please send me this players info, I would be more than happy to send him a set to Italia. In fact we just finished a batch of hellcat strings so we have them in stock now.
Best regards,
Eric Cocco" |

Aside all of this, i realized that the last complete Supersteps set i recently put on has an E string which is not "right": it doesn't rattle, but it has a subtle "doubling effect" when played say from the 10th fret on ...... And the open harmonics are all doubled. There's always a sort of subtle chorus effect, on that string only.
The string cannot be properly tuned. Setting octaves is impossibile ......
I believe that it would be the right time for La Bella men to learn what "quality control" means ..........
Well, friends. I have ENOUGH of La Bella products. They lost a customer.
It's time to move on, and use something else.
I'll see if i can find some of these new DR DDT strings .........
Thanks anyway for help you gave me here.

Thanks anyway for help you gave me here. | This may be ' Stratitis' (so-called because said phenomenon was first observed on the Fender Stratocaster) which is caused by having the pickups adjusted too close to the strings resulting in the pickup excessively magnetizing a portion of the string's length which in turn causes overtones to be repelled as they try vibrate along it's length.
Lowering the pickups a tad and giving the strings a bit of time to de-magnetize may help.
On the other hand the string may just have a problem.
Given the circumstances, I can't blame you for how you feel Marco.
Let's hope that La Bella steps up soon...
I'll send another e-mail to Mr. Cocco. |

1- other older Supersteps sets didn't have this doubling effect, with the PUs at the same height as now
2- it's in the E string, and i also have a lower B string which is not affected
3- the PUs are Bartolini of the K series, not too close. I believe they won't have the magnet pull effect ......
