Install/remove the same set several times?

Does installing and removing the same set of strings several times hurt the strings? I've been testing out different brands and comparing them to the DR Hibeams. I put the DR Hibeams on and took them off at least eight times so far. It seems like they are starting to breakdown. Can this happen? BTW: The DR Hibeams are nice.

It depends. The ones with looser winding and silk are more likely to break. My Pyramid Pyrasounds are just clipped at the end and they don't break.
