Intonation issues on rotosound flats

Sign in to disble this ad
It's a p bass strung with rotosound. It has a normal bent plate bridge and top loaded. Long scale, std guage 45-105. It went on without any problems, until I tried getting the intonation right. Middle strings were ok, but I could not get the E and G strings to work. E string saddle is pushed back all the way and the string is still sharp. The G string saddle is also at the end of the screw and the string is still flat when fretted. I dont play much higher than 12th fret, so I try to get my intonation right focused more in the lower registers. Another thing is, E and A strings seem to be very metallic and bright, but D and G strings have a good 'flat' sound to them. Is this is a bad set? What are my options? Thanks in advance.

I could never get these strings intonated properly with the stock bridge, only with my bad ass. Obivously YMWV, but that was my experience.

I would say it is the bridge, I play rotosound flats, and do not have/never have had that problem.
