J Bass spacing ...

Sign in to disble this ad
just changed my first set of strings on my new J Bass and forgot to note the spacing selection as set up by Fender! I have played around with it and it feels pretty good but i'd be curious as to some members preferences?

IE: the E and A have 3 possible saddle slots and D and G have 4 possibles

thanks

Here's what I do. The slot in the bridge saddle I choose for either the "E" or "G" string is based on having the string stay the same distance from the edge of the fret board.... from nut to saddle. The saddle slots chosen for the "A" and "D" string are picked mainly to give even spacing between all respective strings. For me this isn't a micrometer measurement type of thing. Just eyeball everything and if it both looks and feels right, then it is.
