Joe Osborne Flats, dead G?

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently put a set of the Lakland JO flats on my Carvin lb75. It sounds fairly good accross the board, ( I am still adjusting to not having rounds on the board anymore) but the G string sounds remarkably dead. Do individual strings sometimes just sound "dead"? Should I go by Lakland and try and buy another string?

I've put lots of strings on lots of basses, and I've never had one string sound so dead before. Any other experiences with JO flats?
