Just got my first flats, need some advice.

So I just got my first set of flats, they are Labella deep talkin flats. Put them on last night and love the tone! I am very concerned right now though because I read on a website that lebellas are not meant for through-body stringing. My bass can do either throughbody or through bridge stringing, and since I have always done through body, that is what I did with my new Labellas.

Is it ok for me to do this? I don't want to ruin these beutiful new strings, and can easily take them off to switch to through bridge if necessary. Thank you!

La Bella strings have a warning on the package - do no use through the body. I'd take them off and restring through the bridge.

If they didn't break and look okay I would leave them strung through the body. I have strung many a flatwound string through on my '97 M.I.A. P-Bass with out one ever breaking...never the La Bella's though. I would leave them as is. I have always wondered if that is just La Bella's "disclaimer" ?

Well, if you strung them through the body already, there's no real point in switching now since there's going to be a kink in the string...
