Just got some Rotosound Flatwounds for my Jazz Aerodyne

My first set of flatwounds, and i'm impressed. they sound rather nice on the jazz aerodyne, only thing thats bothering me is the Open E.

When i play the open E, it sounds like a bell. its a wierd sound, if i fret any note on the e string it sounds just fine, but open E has this bell type sound to it

May be twisted or not fully stretched out. I've had that happen to me on some flatwounds before. Make sure you've got strong "witness points" where the string crosses the bridge saddle and the nut.
