SUMBITCH is all I have to say. I've never been a big fan of above-G-string basses, and only a casual fan of below-E-string, but OH MAN does this ADGC tuning rock. I have a set of DR Strings on my Sterling now, .030, .045, .065, .080 and it sounds awesome. Doesn't lose the definition of a BASS instrument, and doesn't sound like some wimpy guitar.

Granted, if I didn't have another bass tuned EADG, I probably wouldn't be doing this. But since I do, why the fark not?

Too bad my electronics are on the fritz right now so I'm only able to experience this newfound glory via acoustic surroundings.

Either way, this is fun stuff!

Nice man, I might have to try that tuning. Do you know any songs that have that tuning?

A Chick from Corea, Victor Wooten is in ADGC tuning. Very very challenging song.

You can search it on youtube.

search something like "A Chick from Corea" or "bass extremes"

It's Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey doing some crazy soloing
