OK, I just tried these tonight on a Geddy Lee Jazz and WOW, they are the real deal!

I'm telling you I think these strings are probably the BEST I have ever played, no joke!

They are bright yet full sounding with great articulation.

They just sound GREAT on a jazz bass, just telling ya!!!

I have to agree that this is one of the best set ever made.. I think the next best thing IMO for Sadowsky Blue SS is DR hi-beams..

I was fine with them but found that they matured out into something really nasally sounding, which I had to EQ quite drastically to cut out. DR Hi Beams are my choice for SS strings now. The Blue Labels have slightly higher tension though, which allows for a lower action that I miss now.

I like the black labels better. They just seem to be "clearer" sounding for lack of a better descriptor.

I am using black nickels right now on my
PJ. I was using the blues. I do have the blue SS (40s) on my Sadowsky modern right now. They just have some sort of low treble/ high mid thing on them that I don't care for. The blacks don't seem to have it.

Ears are what they are, but I think the blacks sound more like hi-beams than the blues. The are nowhere near as supple, but tonally they both have that ultra clear SS ring.
