They don't list strings for a scale that long but they do sell'm by the inch -

You may have to buy several sizes to test which ones work best or maybe they already know and can offer suggestions.
I'd like to know myself if their strings would work on an upright 'stick' bass (38-40 inch scale) I'd like to make. I was planning to contact them this winter to ask about that and was doing some research when I found this thread.

You could also look into "weed wacker" strings that guys use on upright basses for that.

Oddly, exactly what he said. There are upright strings made out of the same material the use for weedwacker strings (i.e., the gardening tool). They are popular among Rockabilly players and supply what some people imagine is the tone of a gut string.

I've tried various varieties of the weed wacker strings on an acoustic upright and on a "test bed" upright stick bass I built. They gave a dull thud/thump on the acoustic upright which the rockabilly folks like but the sound was not what I wanted on a piezo equipped solid stick bass. It's getting harder to find smooth weed wacker strings these days. Most mfgs have gone to a square or triangular cross section string with sharp edges that would shred your fingers in less than a minute if used as bass strings.

A weed wacker bass string example only and not a recommendation (for or against) for this string -
