| Sorry, not much to go on. I know Kaman Corp through Ovation sold Performer strings in the '80s, though I'm sure they didnt' have a 6-string set. They did at the time own their own string company, but I imagine that's gone now since Fender Musical Instrument Corporation bought Kaman last year, and FMIC already owns V. C. Squier (which CBS/Fedner bought in 1967).
All I recall for sure about the '80s ones was that they had a set of black-coated roundwounds. Not tape-wound, but a version of what Elixer et. al. eventually did. My recollection was that the strings sounded good on a P bass we strung up at the store I managed, but nothing exceptional.
