Ken Smith Compressors - nice

Just started using these and so far I really like them; so smooth! I don't typically like the harsh highs of roundwounds and usually play with flats, but I bought a fender p/j recently and slapped some D'addarios XLs I had on there. Overall, didn't like the feel or tone but they brought out a lot of growl and grind. These KS's (compressed rounds) feel fantastic and are much richer, less clanky sounding. Not quite the D'addario growl with the bridge pickup, but I get a sweet, classic P-bass grind that flats won't give. Think I'll try them on my future P purchase. And did I mention they feel wonderful.

Are they taught, or somewhat flexable?

as flexible as any typical round wound. not stiff like flats if that's what you're wondering. they come in lighter gauges too.
