I've been using these for a couple months now. i'm playing on a 34/35 scale bass (btb 5str) tuned to G# and its worked pretty well. I actually haven't found a thicker set of strings that's readily available...

Does anyone else here use these strings or strings of a similar gauge? Experiences/Impressions?

i bought a super light 5 string set and also found a single .145 in the random string box, it was new in packet and ended up working really well, I loved it until it died.

I just pumped into these monsters:

Warwick Black Label Dark Lord Set String Set for E-Bass, Gauges 085, 105, 135, 175

That seems a bit overkill to me though

I had a set on my Tbird for a bit. They had a different feel and midrange tone to them than I'm used to, but they would sound great on an Ibanez due to the inate sound of those basses (e.g. a bit of mid-scoop).

I used to use Warwick black labels. They are available with a .145 B that sounds really good. Problem is that the Warwick D and G sounds really tinny and weak. Now i use a custom set from Newtone strings. They'll do a .145 if you ask for it.
