Ken Smith Slick Round ?'s

I am currently looking for a string that plays like rounds, but sounds more like flats. I think rounds play faster, and are overall easier to play IMO. Flats tend to make my hands ache. Flats need high tension to be played fast IMO if that makes any sense. So far I tried GHS PF's, Webstring flats, Fender 9050 ML's and Labella DTF 760 FL's. I have to say I was pleased with the tone of all these strings. But the feel and tension is bothering me. I found the GHS and Webstrings too floppy, causing my hands to hurt because I had to dig in to play fast. I found the Fenders are good for compound bows, great tone, tension is good to play faster but hurts my hands, The Labella's are very nice strings. They feel about the best, but still I find flats still feel not right for me to play. But man I LOVE the tone!

So in researching like crazy I think I finally found a string that in theory will make me happy. It seems the KS slick rounds fit the bill with having a flatish tone with a little more zing, but though smooth to the touch fundimentally play like rounds. Play a jazz I was still considering going the heavy guage 044-.106. But I was wondering about the tension on the bigger guage strings, are these high tension strings? I heard you get more thump from the large guage strings, but I fear it may be too much tension and too much string for the little jazz and I may be right where I started with too much tension if I go the .106 E string.

Anyway what is everyone's thougts on these as far as tension and playability close to rounds with some thump of the flats?

Thanks

I have tried them all,if you want flatwound sound you have to use flats. Slick Rounds sound like roundwounds to me. Good luck,Steve

They take a bit of playing to get rid of the stickiness when new but once they,re broke in they sound nice. Tension is about medium, I really dont think they sound like RW,s at all to me. My favorite flats are Labella 760 FL,s

I currently play 760 FL's but still find them a little tough to play compared to rounds, tone is great. How would you compare the KSSW to the 760 FL's tone and tensionwise?

Tnx
