Ken Smith Slick Rounds, not so good.

That is to say not so good for me. I sort of liked the A,D and G but the E was horrid. I think it might even be dead straight out of the pack. I can't believe that it would sound that flat and dead as compared to the rest but never hearing them before I guess that might just be the Slick's sound. Any chance I might get a replacement from Ken Smith? Also, tension was much higher than I prefer.I also have tried the Daddario half rounds and I was underwhelmed also but at least they sounded even in tone. In the Ken Smith's positive column is that they seem less grabby and felt a bit more polished than the Daddarios and they have a pretty maroon silk on the ends. It was an experiment but I am thinking that half rounds aren't for me.

You might have a dead E string - it happens to all string makers. Try to get in touch with Ken, he might be able to replace it for you.
