Ken Smith Slick Rounds vs D'Addario Half Rounds vs Chromes on my L2500?

I've got an L2500 coming in this week and I'm looking to get a thumpier sound out of it than the D'Addario XL's that are installed on it now. I used to own an L2000 and loved the sound I got from SIT Powerflats (half round/ground round), but they don't make a 5-string set. I want a smooth feel, tight tension, thumpy sound, but I still want articulation and clarity (no mud). I had Chromes on an active Ibanez 5-string and loved the sound as well.

In your opinion which of these would sound best on my L2500?

I haven't tried Chromes yet, but I have had Slicks on my Lakland Scheff for almost a year now. I like them enough to want to try them on a fretless I've got. Tight and bouncy feel, and a nice compromise of thump and ring depending on attack. However, they did feel kind of 'sticky' to me at first. Obviously I got used to it quickly and no longer consider it an issue. I imagine Chromes will be smoother feeling. If you end up comparing the two please post.

Thanks! I'm going to go with the Slick Rounds. I had SIT Powerflats on the L2000 Tribute I used to own and I just love that sound!! Ken Smith strings all have 38" winding to the silk so they're perfect for my L2500 which needs around 35" to string through the bridge. I might get the 36.5" B-string they offer, though, or I'm afraid I'm going to have a lot of B-string trying to wind its way around the tuning post. Thanks!

I had Chromes on the active Ibanez I owned before this but I'm afraid they might not be articulate enough on the passive setting I usually use with L2000/L2500 electronics/pickups.
