I've tried many measures to make my bass not sound so mid-rangy and trebly, and I realized that my bright, clicky, new Elixirs are to blame. I know some people rub weird food products on their strings to deaden them, but would it work on a coated string? Also, I do want a good slap tone, I just don't want the harsh tones I'm getting with my strings (mainly the C). Can someone please help me? |

Also what kind of rig are you running through, as in amp/cabinet? I'm really at a loss here, so someone else chime in here and help out.

Those strings are awsome. |

I turned down the treble all the way, and the G and C were still too high. I posted this a long time ago, though. I already changed out the strings. I like the tone better now. |

Have you tried an envelope shaper &/or EQ adjustment to dial in the sound you are looking for? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
