Can anyone tell me if these strings can be used on any bass, P-bass, J-bass etc. Or are they only good for Hofner style basses?

The Beatle set is just the LaBella Deep Talking flats in the scale length for the beatle style bass. They are available in other scale lengths. Great strings.

These are also lighter than the standard 760 strings.

Be sure to use the right gauge strings on your Hofner.

Some time ago I read that it is important to use the right strings on Hofner basses. Right meaning light. My 60's Club had a bit if a twist to the neck that I believe was caused by using conventional gauge strings. After reading this I left it unstrung for a long while and now using TIs, the neck is straight. I was lucky.

Your P Bass is most likely a 34" scale bass. The Beatle La Bellas are for a 32" scale bass. They will be too short.

The closest you will get to the feel of the Hofner strings on your P Bass will be the 760FX set of long scale La Belllas.

That's what I wanted to confirm. I have the FX right now, I like them but wanted a slightly bigger gauge. The FL seems like such a big leap from the FX at .104, I was hopping I could get the Beatle Bass in the .100.

The 760FL set is also pretty close in feel to the Hofner La Bellas.

Can't go wrong with either.
