Are these a higher tension string? I am thinking about giving a 5 string set a shot gauged 40-60-80-100-128. Fat Beams are another option. I am looking for something that is a little on the low side tension wise but still have some meat in the basement.

Thanks,

Dave

Been a while since I tried La Bella Hard Rockin' Steels, but right now I have Fat Beams on a Jazz (4-string), and they feel pretty wiggly. I would imagine that the La Bellas would feel tighter since they're hex core and the Fat Beams are round core. Both are terrific-sounding strings IMO.

I Wouldnt Call La Bella Hard Rocking Steel for low tension... they feel pretty solid and thight under my fingers... yeah, i guess you can call them high tension.
