Has Anyone used these strings?
how do they perform in terms of feel, tone, life etc?

I'm currently using them on my Jackson Concert Pro V which is an active P/J configuration.

They are rough to the touch being steel roundwounds. They feel very tight - not floppy at all.

The tone is very aggressive; bright yet with a lot of deep low end, almost like a piano string.

I've had them on for a well over a year and still bright and zingy. I use this bass mostly for funk (slap) and fusion, so I was looking for a very bright steel string. Very satisfied!

On my fretless jazz, I've used 2 sets of Super Steps and they produce weird overtones. It's like i'm constantly plugged into a chorus pedal.

I e-mailed the guys at LaBella, and they say it's the contact point on my bridge.

As far as tight on a scale of 1–10 I'd give 'em a 7.5. They're not overly stiff.
With just the P pup running there is still bite or presence in the attack. It's a versatile string. I like 'em. Long life.

I don't get the "chorus" effect, but mine is a fretted. I don't know much about contact point, but all you have going over the bridge saddle is the core. Lowers the action a little by the time the full wrapped string is over the pups and fretboard. Something for the OP to consider.

Hmm, currently stuck between DR Lo-riders, Dean Markley Blue steels and these.. thoughts? Mostly rock, wanna do more slap. i like a fairly bright, percussive tone, and it's for a P-Bass.

I was using the Blue Steels, but then they changed the formula to include nickel which took "the edge" out of 'em. They may have gone back to the stainless only formula.

BlueSteels are a good string. I broke a couple, but I tend to dig in more than some. Good sound and feel. A little looser tha LaBellas -- a 7 on the 1-10 scale. Also a little "warmer" tone.

The SuperSteps are brighter and keep their zing longer. I tend to keep strings on for a long time. I wanted a good edgy bright tone for slap and the LaBellas have a brighter/more aggressive tone.

i have used them on my warwicks a lot b/c of the narrow saddles...great strings...they last a good while...very tight focused low end...punchy...good tension...but not too tight...try em...i bet you will like em!

I used a set for a little more than a year, good string, last long, hard to the touch as stated before (you're gonna get some nice callus). The part that goes into the saddles is really thin compared to the rest of the string so you may have to change you're set up a bit.

and careful when you wound them on the tuner I messed up one of them by mistake

Ruined me for other strings. Been using them for 10 plus years. You can set your action lower than any other string. Zing for weeks...

Giving a bump to this one as I am seriously thinking of using these on my new Victor Bailey Jazz Bass V but since they are not at all cheap I was hoping for a little more up to date input before I drop the $.

Just wanted to know if they were still as good as is claimed and maybe hear a little anecdotal info. I'm looking for the proverbial piano string sound. I play with my fingers mostly, sometimes with a pick if the song calls for it. I rarely slap and pop.

I used supersteps for a couple of years until DR came into existence. They aren't totally bright but have a nice clear tone. I remember them sounding good but being slightly more flexible then anything else I had tried. They are a lot like the DR fatbeams but they don't last nearly as long as DRs

The reason I'm trying these strings is mostly because it seems the low B on a Fender Jazz can use the help of a contact core type of string for sustain and tone. But also because people report they are bright and ballsy. I guess I'll see.
