La Bellas 760N for my godin

Hi,

I'd like to buy five La Bella 760N strings for my fretless Godin A5, with a high C instead of the low B (EADGC tuning). Here are my questions:

1. The bass has 34 inches scale length: should I get standard size or "Extra Long" size (EXL) ?

2. I live in France, so finding a set (especially the high C) isn't easy. Juststrings.com has everything, but they only ship for 40$ to France. I haven't found the strings anywhere else, and I couldn't find anything on carvin.com (where people say they buy cheap strings from). Any idea where I could find them?

3. My bass has the factory low B set for the moment. The low B string has 0.130 inches diameter. Will it harm if I put the La Bella E string with diameter 0.115 inches instead ?

Strange fact about the high C :

Juststrings.com and the english La Bella catalog say it's a 0.043 string (here and here).

The spanish catalog (and other websites) say it's a 0.029 string (here and here).

Which is true? I guess it's 0.043, it would make more sense, but all this confused. Or is it a difference between old sets and new sets?

Regular length 760N are fine for a 34" scale bass. I just bought a set from Juststrings a couple of weeks ago. I emailed them before placing the order asking the same question, and that's what they recommended.

I had to pay about 29% more for my strings because of the US/CDN dollar exchange. Since I couldn't find the strings anywhere locally, I had no choice but to bite the bullet. I'm happy I did. However, if you know someone in the US, maybe you can have the strings shipped there and they can just mail them to you. Probably be much cheaper.

I can't see it being harmful. I actually had to widen some of the nut slots on my bass to accommodate the low B and E when I put the stings on. The low B on my La Bella's is .128. You shouldn't have any problems. I would say that the C string is .043 if that's what is listed on Juststring's site. You could send them an email to confirm before you order. They get back to you pretty quickly.
