LaBella

I play alot of Blues as well as Funk Jazz.....Iam wanting to get a different set of strings...Has anyone used the Labella Flat wounds?
Or what kind of strings do they make that are good sounding for my music in black...Maybe Nylone flat wounds in black.

I use Labella nylon tapes and either Labella, D'Addarios Chromes, or Fender flats.

I've got LaBellas on all my basses right now (except my URB). I use Hard Rockin Steels (stainless rounds) on most of them and Deep Talkin Bass (flats) on one of them.

Great strings IMO

I also play La Bella Flats (standard gauge) on my main bass (P), they rule.

After trying different other brands (TIs, GHS, Fenders, etc), these are my favorite for everything that demands an oldschool sound!

I didn't really like the Fender flats, they seemed very high tension, but I did like the LaBella's.

I just put a set of LaBella flats on my G&L SB-1 and I really like them so far. Very articulate with a great low end bump. Like them much more than the GHS Precisions that I had earlier.

+1 for the La Bella Deep Talkin' Flats

Actually, the Deep Talkin' Rounds are my favorite rounds...

Search for "760FL"-- many many threads about La Bella flats, and these are the most popular gauge.

La Bella tapewound strings are also quite nice--these are the "black" strings you mention?

My personal opinion is that for the most part LaBella strings tend to suck. However, one exception is the LaBella black nylon tapewound strings.

Another advantage of laBella strings is that they can be had at a really good price from Carvin. Check out their prices. Their strings are made by LaBella and the prices make them very interesting; even the ones that aren't so hot.

Just out of curiosity... what strings are you using?
