LaBella Deep Talkin' FL - anyone broke it on machine head post?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi
I just bought 760FL, I'm afraid sthe string will break on machine head.

I have Fender P-bass '62 (with reversed tuners), so they should fit just great, but I'm afraid that the winding ends too fast, and I'll have to wind some of metal wound on tunning peg.

I'll certainly do it with E string - I had the same situation and no problems with Thomastik JF344.

Should I try to put them on or send them back?

EBMM (Schallers) are the only tuners that give me trouble damaging flats. Those reverse Fender tuners shouldn't give you any trouble at all.

Here's a trick that will prevent it. Old ball-ends threaded onto the string, pulls the string back a bit. Never mind it's the G in this pic- works on any string:

OK, it's on. Tuned it and it works so far so good. I hope it'll last, because I have 2 gigs at the weekend :/

i bought a set a while ago and broke the E at the machine post. they were too long, i measured them and turned out they were extra long scale.
