LaBella Deep Talkin' Roundwounds

Anyone have experience with these roundwounds? I have used the Deep Talkin' Flats, but wondered what the primary differences beween the two might be other than brightness and feel...

I bought a used Steinberger that had a fairly new set on at the time. Same basic voice as the DT flats, i.e. lots of bottom and low mids, but with a little more high end information without being zingy, but without the distinctive attack of most flats.

To me there was no real point to them, although they are very musical, unless you don't like the feel of flats. Of course, YMMV greatly.

Just wondering...

I'm trying an 'experiment' with my five'er - dropping the low B and tuning EADGC. LaBella only makes the Deep Talkin' flats in a BEADG 5-string set but the Deep Talkin' roundwounds do come in a EADGC set with a C that's .029.

You may be stuck with a 4-string set of DTLs, and buying a single C string from another company. At such a thin gauge, it won't make too much of a difference if it's D'A Chromes, or what have you.

I'm waiting on some DTRs from JustStrings.com, so I'll give an update when I get them.
