LaBella flats -- will they require neck adjustment?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am thinking of buying Labella Deep Talkin' Flats. I have done research on these strings and have decided that I am going to go with the FS set, if I decide to buy them. I've heard the tension of thse strings in general is high (don't know about the FS set though). The one thing putting me off of trying them is the thought that I might need to make a setup adjustment due to the tension, which I'm not real comfortable with. Due to the design of my bass, I will have to take the neck off of my Jazz Bass (A Fender Custom Shop Relic) to make a trussrod adjustment, and that could be a disaster.

If they're higher tension than what you're using now (highly probable), then probably. You can pay set up, you know.

I think anytime you change brand/type/gauge of strings you could be looking at an adjustment. Once I settled on mine, i only need a setup about 2x/year.

Why would that be a disaster??? IF you can turn a screwdriver...you can perform a slight adjustment

+1 to everything that was said.

Setting up your bass ain't no magic... but if you can't do it, let a tech do it for a couple bucks to save you some worries.

Taking the neck off your bass for minor adjustments sounds like a major b***h though, haha.
