Anyone tried the Labella or Rotosound tapewounds on a Danelectro or Jerry Jones Longhorn bass? Thoughts?

Haven't tried Tapewounds on a Longhorn Bass but I think if you have a bass that retro you have to have tapewounds of flats on it. I have only tried the roto tapewounds which are very nice sounding (very thuddy) but a bit stiff feeling , the Labellas are meant to have lower tension than the rotos but are meant to be brighter and less thuddy. Not sure if the nut will need to be filed for the tapewounds , some basses need this done, my bass I have switched from tapes to regular gauge flats with no problems.

I prefer the Labella tapes over their flats on a Dano- I just find the Dano/trad flats combo, while super thumpy, to be missing a bit of mids character. The extra brightness with the faster decay of laBella tapes suits it well, especially picked.

Sorry, no experience with either Roto flats or tapes on a Longhorn, but I bet Roto flats would sound cool.
