Larry Graham plays Optima Golds?

Anybody seen the Larry Graham slap instructional video? I have it and was watching it and noticed he had gold strings that had a black wrapping at the headstock. I have a set of Optima Gold Flatwounds and they have the black wrapping too. So this is leading me to believe that Graham uses Optima Gold Roundwounds. Can anybody confirm this? The flats sound really dull, so if he does play Optima Golds, then I'm probably going to order a set of the Roundwounds. Anybody play the Roundwound Golds? How do they compare to DRs (Hi Beams and Fat Beams)?

Dont know but Optimas are supposed to last a very long time, Dean Markley is coming out with some Gold Plated strings so I can compare those two

Very light guage, very growly with less zing than steel, more crisp than nickles. I recently sold a set.

i play roundwound golds. there super bright, i love em. i use ghs fast frett on them so they still sound new after almost a year id say. great strings
