Least "Bright" new strings?

I've got a bass on the way that I'm sure will need new strings. (I'll post a pic a soon as I have one). I don't really like the sound of new strings that are too "bright", so what would you suggest?

I've got D'Addario's on my Squire right now (45-105 I think), and they're okay now a few months later, but I wasn't really too happy with them when they were first put on.

Keep in mind I like the thumpy P sound.

If you like to keep your signal clean, then flats are probably what you'll like the sound of . Flats are what players like James Jamerson always used. If you like the sound of old motown bass, that's the sound of flats most likely played by the hands of Mr. Jamerson. If you clean them after every gig, you can still get a pretty decent slap sound , albeit not as bright and aggressive.

If you are like me and don't want to lose the growl that rounds give you through a cranked up amp then the pressure or halfrounds are the way to go. They may be a little bright at the beginning, but some subtle eq'ing can dial that out quickly, and you can still get most of the growl you like to hear from the bridge p/u's These are my choice of string. I use D'addario's version.
