That's my Affinity series Squier P bass. The Black Beauties looked great and sounded nice at first, but then the novelty wore off and I became less interested in their tone. I began playing with Elixirs and D'Addario and like the feel and sound of those better. I've just got to try some DR Hi Beams.

My son grabbed this shot - one of my all time favorites. (DR Peacock Blues on my Fender "California Series P-Bass Special")

i have not way to post pics. but my sunburst jazz currently has blue strings on it. Blue actually looks goo believe it or not. The only reason I bought them was because they were on sale from 18 down from 35.

Just a standard issue dog from the Humane Society - maybe some chow mixed with shepherd, he's got a mostly black tongue. Lots of fun.

I only know of DRs. I like em a lot. They last about 3X as long as many other strings and sound good to me. I can't say what metals they are made of, but they are definately roundwound. The coating is there to keep dirt and finger funk from deterioating the winding metals. The color was a brilliant marketing ploy IMO. I have mixed blues and blacks just for fun.
Not too pricey about 30 bucks or so.

I think a rainbow set would be awesome, especially on an ERB; 7 string or more.
