Long lasting B string?

Sign in to disble this ad
Since I started playing 5 string bass a few years ago, I've had experience with the B string dying faster then the rest of the strings on my Carvin and Fender basses. This is getting frustrating. I wash my hands before I play, wipe the strings after I play and once a week wipe the strings with alcohol string cleaner.

Suggestions?

I had the same thing with nickles. I bought 3 sets and 3 extra Bs to last the sets. Now I use SS and they last the same.
