Long Scale?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello fellow bass players ,
I'am looking at a five string bass to buy and was wondering on a 35" scale will regular long scale strings work or should i look for extra long scale if there is a such thing..
The reason i'am asking is that i have been doing some reading here on talkbass and have noticed others talking about strings for there 35' scale ,some say the long scale strings are to short.Does anyone know for sure,I would like to know this before I order any strings.
Thanks eno

I have a similar problem, I have to use the GHS Super long strings so it will fit.

Go to the Mfg website, they will list the scale length for each type of string

DR Strings fit up to 37" scale, they don't fool around with packaging all those different scales.
