Hm. If they gave you that just for the straplocks, I wonder what they would send for a messed up Cry Baby pedal.

They told him to act like MacGyver and fashion some straplocks out of strings.

Wait, im super curious as to what exactly happened to your strap locks?
I was about to get a pair and now i read that owners have to destroy them in order to remove them!

So whats the story?

The story is unlike my schaller straplocks the dunlop ones have a larger screw than the stock lakland ones. Which the instructions say you should pre-drill the hole which I said screw that I didn't have to with schaller. So I got about halfway through screwing it in and stripped out the screwhead. From there I tried everything I knew, stripped screw removal kits, vice-grips, pliars. Eventually I used drill bits in increasing size to shear the screw head off and slowy back it out with pliars. I even told the dunlop guy that it was my fault for not following the intructions but he sent the stuff anyways...

Not to mention the top strap pin on the lakland is directly pointed in line with the neck so you either have to get a short screwdriver in which case you cannot get enough tourqe or be up against the neck which then your at an angle and strip the screw(like me). Another option is a really long skinny one that the handle extends past the neck.

I can say that their customer service was excellent for me as well. I had bought a set of strings and I was having issues with the G string...it wouldnt intonate correctly. I sent them an email and they sent me like 3 sets of new strings for my trouble. Excellent IMO.

Here's a tip I learned somewhere on here...use a bar of soap and just scrape the screw on it a couple of times. This allows the screw to go into the wood quite easy. Maybe give it a try next time.

Dunlop CS is amazing.

I had a dead G string out of the box and they sent me 2 packs along with a t shirt.

Very helpful.

Too bad I don't live in the US, or I'd just buy their stuff because of the amazing customer service. I hope they keep it up and that business goes well for them.
