Maybe try the Rotosound RS77EL which is an extra long set.

Not what you asked, but Labella counsels against stringing through body anyway.

Personally I wouldn't let the ability to string through body or not influence my choice of strings; I've never heard a difference going through body or top-loading.

The only flats I have experience with run through body on my lakland, are the TI's. JF365's

GHS Precision Flats will fit almost anything.
D'Addario Chromes Extra Long (regular Long Chromes not nearly long enough)
TI Flats, but you'll need the JF365 set (for 36" basses)

The 36" TI's...those are the only one long enough for string through. Sound and feel great.

flats aren't designed for the hard angle created by through-the-body stringing and can result in cracked windings. I'd advise against it, and most string manufacturers will do the same.

Thanks guys...

For the recommendations. Gotta consider the flatwound through-body issue. I love the sound of flatwounds though.

DR High-Beam Flats. They are a little hard to find so I am posting a link to where you can buy them.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to string through the body? I wouldn't let that affect your string choices.

GHS precision flats, GHS Bright Flats (really ground wound) and TI jazz flats are long enough.

I've never had any issues with them strung through the body on Fenders.

La Bella is the only company that has the through body warning btw.

And yes I can hear the difference.
Add an insane drummer, guitar players, etc then only I know but I feel good about it.

GHS makes a flat wound set that fits my 36" scale Elrick 5. I believe they would be long enough.

Are these long enough(and safe) to string through the body of my Fender Jazz bass?

Stick with La Bella (if possible).

Which La Bella Deep Talkin' flats?

I use these extra long ones on my '55 P Bass and they're plenty long enough (although if I tried to put them on a standard P Bass, all the silk and about 1" of full thickness string would end up on the post ).

Could it be that you have the standard length set?
