Personally I wouldn't let the ability to string through body or not influence my choice of strings; I've never heard a difference going through body or top-loading. |

D'Addario Chromes Extra Long (regular Long Chromes not nearly long enough)
TI Flats, but you'll need the JF365 set (for 36" basses) |

| | | | Thanks guys... For the recommendations. Gotta consider the flatwound through-body issue. I love the sound of flatwounds though.

I've never had any issues with them strung through the body on Fenders.
La Bella is the only company that has the through body warning btw.
And yes I can hear the difference.
Add an insane drummer, guitar players, etc then only I know but I feel good about it.

I use these extra long ones on my '55 P Bass and they're plenty long enough (although if I tried to put them on a standard P Bass, all the silk and about 1" of full thickness string would end up on the post ). http://www.rondomusic.com/760fmcbxl.html
Could it be that you have the standard length set?
