Looking for rough strings

I've been using Rotosound Swings ever since I started playing, but they go dead way too quickly, and I'm not all that crazy about the way they sound.

So I'm looking for something new, but I need strings that are rough like the Rotosounds because it helps my fret hand when I have to stretch, which is pretty much all the time. I'd also like them to sound and feel good for slapping.

Any recommendations?

On the Dean Markley website, they seem to imply that these are just like Rotos. Whether they are or not, they're pretty good. They're coarse-feeling like Rotos, and they seem to have the deep lows and fat mids of Rotos, too.

whatever those blue strings that come on Ibanez BTB basses are (elixirs?)

i almost hurt myself on them!
