Looking for strings for my Ibanez

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, I'm looking for a new strings for my Ibanez SR20TH
Basically i liked the Ernie Ball Slinky 45-105 (The pink ones) But i didn't like the kinda dead E string and they feel cheap for me

I don't really like GHS and didn't like the DR Marcus Miller or Ken Smith strings

I'm looking for a modern sound kinda like Wooten's stuff when he's not soloing, But with "meat"

Looking for 45-105 or different E string gauge
I was thinking about LaBella or the D'addarious wooten use
or some expensive strings like Sadowsky or w/e

Please help me choose new strings TB
Thanks

BTW, I currently have Elixir's on my Ibby but they are not really the thing, I like them but they are really expensive and i think i can find better stuff at the price

Modern with meat is pretty close to the tone I had last time I had my Schecter Stiletto out. It's strung with Dunlop Nickels.

I would also look into the Sadowsky Blue label's.

Sounds weird, I'll check the Blue Label sadowskys, I hope they are not really bright but yet modern

Check out Vic's Fodera signatures. I've started using Fodera's on all my basses, and haven't regretted it.

The strings don't immediately sound like Vic, obviously, and they've got plenty of meat...the ones on my Conklin make subwoofers roar nicely. I've also got a set on my Ibby BTB, and they have plenty of push there, too.

Jim Dunlop is a company that makes nearly everything but the basses lol. Their strings are a well known brand.

I don't find the Blue Label's to be bright (I have the Nickel's) though a friend of mine does. Oddly enough, he plays S.I.T.'s which are very bright. Kind of conflicting, but never the less, strings are incredibly subjective to begin with.

MTD might be a brand to look into as well.

Sounds cool but didn't find them on eBay and from what i read one time it took half a year for pack of strings to ship from Fodera

I live in Israel, So some stuff are not available here like Sadowsky
Anyhow, The Vic Fodera strings are intresting

Update:
I can't afford Fodera strings, Cause that's like 60 dollars at least for one pack

So any other options? What will fit me good? And should i take smalled gauge? (Though i think im fine with 45's)
