Question Looking for thinner TI like Flats

Sign in to disble this ad
Howdy,
I currently have a set of JF344s and I am finding that the E string tonally doesn't quite work. I'm thinking that a smaller E string might fit the bill- is there a smaller one from TI, or is there another set with similar properties and a smaller E? Thanks.

There is a set that is used on the extra long scales, and the E is about .96 gauge. Unfortunately it is made for 36-37 inch basses, and used even with my body thru American Fender P Bass the string part past the silk still wraps around the post. While this is usually a no-no, it hasn't broken yet. Probably due to its flexibility. It is found in the JF364 set.

Also, you can get the string by itself from the stringle strings section of the site:

TIs are unique strings, especially thier flats, and it might be hard to find another brand's string to match up tonally and have a similar feel.

I saw those, has anybody tried them? Thanks for the tip on single strings, I didn't know one could buy individual TI strings. Cheers!
