loud acoustic strings

I have a Gig coming up that has to be ALL ACOUSTIC. My acoustic is a De Rosa 5 string (smaller body). I just want to make sure I can be heard against 2 guitars and a Dobro. What strings would you all suggest i use?

I'll try to say it the gentle way. Your contribution to the gig will be very modest, whatever strings you use. I play a lot together with acoustic guitars, using a Phil Jones Briefcase, 100 watt, works on both the net and batteries. Great sound.

the strings aren't going to make a real difference. The volume generated by your acoustic is based on its body and construction. All I can say if you can't use any amp at all is: PICK/PLUCK HARD.

+1, especially with a small-bodied acoustic. String choice is moot, you will be very hard to hear without amplification.

If you're currently playing light gauge/low tension strings (TI Acousticore), then going to a heavier string with higher tension would certainly help. Additionally, raising the string height will allow you use a more aggressive right hand (if you're righty), thus, getting more string movement and producing more volume.
I like LaBella Tapewounds on my ABG's, but it's the tone, not that they're louder then others of similar gauge/tension.

Strings are irrelevant --- it's the size of the amp and quality of the pickup..

I've owned them all from Deans to Martins to Tacomas to Michael Kelly and on and on and on...

Focus on the amp - you'll be happier (especially if you plug the hole).
