Low B - Half-Rounds or Flats?

I play a 5-String Fender Jazz. I've been using Elixir strings for a while and like how they feel under my hands (slippery), but I really want to get something closer to the flat-wound sound. My dilemma is that last time i played flats (D'addario) on my 5-string.. The Low B basically flopped around with no definition.

I'd like to have a string with the flat sound that I can still slap once in a while and have it sound decent... Any suggestions?

I have used Rotosound flats on my 6 string basses with a 130 gauge B. I found it worked well on the parts I played slap. They are higher tension then rounds so string flop shouldn't be an issue. They are a bit brighter then most flats though.

Aslong as the low B holds it's own tone wise i'll be happy with that. Thanks for the suggestion

The Lakland flats are pretty good and I remember the TI Jazz Flats as being good buts its been awhile since I tried the (I would like to try a full set of TI's again). However, with my Fender V's, I have just about given up on flat B's and prefer to use Lakland or Fender flats on the E thru G and a .142 CircleK roundwound B string. It looks a little funny but sounds great.
