Question Low E broke while stringing, suggestions?

Sign in to disble this ad
I got my DR Marcus Miller Signature strings today - never tried DRs before - and as I was tuning it up to E the wrap separated from the core! I sent an email to DR asking if they could refund me or send me a new low E. Is DR going to do anything for me, or should I just go and buy a new single string?

Very helpful, nice. Folks who actually know, such as myself, will tell you yes, they will send you a new string for free. No crystal ball required.

If you look at the instructions that come with the strings, you'll see they recommend that you put a 90 degree bend in the string about an inch in front of where it will be cut. These strings are round core and can slip if not trimmed and installed properly.
