which manufacturer has different color wrappings on there strings?

Just picked up a Warwick Corvette fretless and it has strings on it that have wrappings at the base of the string in different colors. I take it that this manufacturer color codes the strings? I was wondering if this is done by a certain manufacturer?

I've seen D'addario's with colored ball ends, now they used to make a set that had different color wrappings(slow wounds) and they are discontinued.

Rotosound Nexus does, at both ends. But they would be black strings.

Yup - Slowounds were may favourite strings and many other TBers - shame they discontinued them - they always felt much better quality than any other D'Addarios...?

I've still got a few left though and they are indeed metallic colour-coded!

Yep, D'Addario Slo-Wounds. Best nickel strings ever. I should try a set of EXL-165's again to see if they're really like the Slo-Wounds were. D'Addario said that they quit marketing the Slo-Wounds because they started using the same winding technique on all their strings, and therefore the Slo-Wounds were the same as the nickle XL series.
